Barnes & Noble Celebrates Educators Just in Time for Back-to-School

To celebrate educators just in time for back-to-school, Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE: BKS), the world’s largest retail bookseller, will kick off the school year with Educator Appreciation Days every Saturday and Sunday in August. Starting Saturday, August 4, all stores nationwide will feature special discounts* to celebrate pre-K-12 public, private and homeschool teachers and administrators, including 25% off most merchandise like books, toys and games; and limited-time giveaways from Sterling Publishing, while supplies last. The offer will also be valid online at BN.com Saturday, August 25 and Sunday, August 26.

August’s Educator Appreciation Days special discount offerings are:

  • 25% off list price on most books, gifts, music, DVDs, and toys and games for classroom purchase;
  • 10% off all Café consumables purchases; and
  • 10% off select products to encourage tech-based fun including Air Hogs Hyper Drift Drone by Spin Master, Code Gamer by Thames & Kosmos, LEGO® BOOST Creative Toolbox, and much more.

As an added bonus, select Sterling Publishing titles will be given away with educator purchases, while supplies last, on Saturday, August 4. Educators can choose one of the following titles to receive for free with their purchase, while supplies last: Write-On Wipe-Off Learning Cards: Shapes (Flash Kids), Snow Dance (Richard Scarry's Readers Series: Level 1), and Flash Forward Reading: Grade 5 (Flash Kids).

Barnes & Noble already has a full week of Appreciation Days lined up for October 2018, from October 6-14, to continue to support teachers into the school year. The special discounts offered during Educator Appreciation Days are available to pre-K to grade 12 teachers, administrators and homeschoolers, enrolled in the free Barnes & Noble Educator Discount Card Program.

Barnes & Noble supports teachers all year through the Barnes & Noble Educator Discount Card Program, which offers pre-K through grade 12 educators 20% off list price on most in-store and online purchases for classroom use throughout the year, and 25% off during special appreciation events. To take advantage of these offers, educators can apply for their Barnes & Noble Educator Discount Card in their local store or download the form from the Educator Application page online.

Barnes & Noble also partners with schools on bookfairs to help them raise funds, while also hosting events throughout the year to help make reading more fun and accessible for children and families across the country.
