Coupa Teams Up with Project Open Hand and Project Night Night at Inspire ‘18 to Serve Local Communities

More than 2,000 attendees will assemble backpacks, and inscribe books for Bay Area families and children

SAN FRANCISCO, May 07, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Coupa Software (NASDAQ:COUP), a leader in business spend management (BSM), announced today a partnership with Project Open Hand and Project Night Night. The partnership is part of the Coupa Cares program, which works closely with local and global communities to address both urgent and ongoing needs. The partnership will provide more than 2,000 attendees at the company’s annual Inspire conference an opportunity to support struggling Bay Area families and homeless children.

Today, Project Open Hand and Coupa Cares will pack 100 backpacks full of toiletry items and other necessities. Each Project Night Night Package will contain a new security blanket, an age-appropriate children’s book, and a stuffed animal — all nestled inside a new canvas tote bag. All items collected will be donated to Bay Area families in need by Project Open Hand.

Tomorrow, Coupa Cares and Project Night Night will write “inspiring” personal inscriptions inside 500 children books that will be included in Project Night Night packages to be given to children in need. In addition, Project Night Night will take donations of any physical goods that children will need to be safe, secure, and ready to learn.

“We are thrilled to partner with Project Open Hand and Project Night Night at Inspire to give back to families and children in need in the Bay Area, said Ravi Thakur, senior vice president of business acceleration at Coupa. “Coupa and Coupa Cares are dedicated to giving back for the greater good, and the opportunity to invite our customers, partners, and prospective customers to participate is rewarding.”

“We are honored that Coupa has selected us to benefit from their generosity,” said Kendra Robins, founder and executive director of Project Night Night. “We are delighted that Coupa and its conference attendees will make a direct and meaningful impact on homeless children in the Bay Area. Coupa's philanthropy initiative will help us to provide our Night Night Packages to more than 35,000 homeless children this year.”

The two-day donation drives fall under Coupa’s Corporate Social Responsibility Program (CSR) that encapsulates the company’s core values of ensuring customer success, focusing on results and striving for excellence to positively impact both local and global communities.

“By focusing on ‘The Power of You,’ Coupa Inspire '18 and Project Night Night will partner to reinforce the value and the importance of every child whom we serve,” Robins said.

Inspire ’18 champions the exponential power of the Coupa community highlighting how Value, Inspiration, Innovation and Collaboration are transformed when raised “To the Power of You,” the conference theme. Inspire ’18 brings together more than 2,000 customers, business leaders and industry analysts to explore how leading organizations are actively managing their business spend.

About Project Night Night
Project Night Night is a not-for-profit organization that provides to homeless children, ages 0 to 12, some of the most important basics of life —free of charge. We call these basics “Night Night packages” and each includes a new security blanket, an age-appropriate children's book, and a stuffed animal -- all nestled inside a canvas tote bag.  We provide the physical goods that children need to be safe, secure, and ready to learn.  One in 50 children is homeless in the United States, according to a recent report released by the National Center on Family Homelessness < http://www.familyhomelessness.org>.  With more than 1.5 million children without a home, there are more homeless families now than at any other time since the Great Depression.  The study shows that 42% of homeless children are younger than 6 years old.  Visit www.projectnightnight.org to learn more about Project Night Night.
