Drilling Commences at Huckleberry to Test Gravity Anomalies

Canada NewsWire

OTTAWA, June 27, 2017 /CNW/ - Northern Shield Resources Inc. ("Northern Shield" or the "Company") [TSX-V: NRN] is pleased to announce that modelling of the ground gravity survey has been completed and drill crew have been mobilized to the property. The program is being funded pursuant to the Option Agreement with South32 Canada Exploration Inc.

The drilling program will consist of 4-6 drill-holes totalling approximately 2000 metres. Drilling will primarily test 3 targets:

  • a strong gravity anomaly in the central part of the survey area that appears to be discordant to the stratigraphy and hence may represent a feeder system;
  • a 900 metre long gravity anomaly that is located down-dip from the Discovery Zone mineralization;
  • and a distinct magnetic inversion target that is located below drill-hole 16HK-03 and coincident with a cluster of EM conductors. Drill-hole 16HK-03 was abandoned last year for technical reasons but mineralogical studies suggest it was proximal to Ni-Cu massive sulphides.

The drilling program is being overseen by Christine Vaillancourt, P. Geo., the Company's Chief Geologist and a Qualified Person under National Instrument 43-101.

Northern Shield Resources Inc. is a Canadian-based company focused on exploring for platinum group element ("PGE") and nickel-copper-PGE deposits. It is known as a leader in grass roots exploration for Ni-Cu-PGEs and the understanding of magmatic systems as it applies to exploration.
