(OTCQB: BAYK), holding company of Virginia Commonwealth Bank and VCB Financial Group, announces that Barry P. Almond, a 30-year retail banking veteran, has joined Virginia Commonwealth Bank as Senior Vice President, Chief Retail Officer.

Almond most recently served as Chief Business and Operations Officer with Sonabank in Glen Allen. Prior to Sonabank, Almond spent 12 years with First Capital Bank managing the Retail and Investment Groups.  He also had long tenures at Village Bank and Central Fidelity Bank.  Almond is a graduate of The College of William and Mary, the Virginia School of Bank Management, and the Executive Leadership Institute. Active in the community, Almond is a member and past president of the Rotary Club of Bon Air; a member of the Sons of the Revolution Virginia Chapter; and he has served as Treasurer, board member, and coach in two Chesterfield County Youth Athletic Associations.
