Heritage Bank Appoints Thomas Henning as Executive Vice President, Chief Risk Officer

OLYMPIA, Wash., May 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Heritage Bank, subsidiary of Heritage Financial Corporation ("Company" or "Heritage") (Nasdaq: HFWA), is pleased to announce the appointment of Thomas Henning as Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer. Mr. Henning will report to President and Chief Operating Officer, Jeffrey J. Deuel, and his range of responsibilities will include audit and risk management.

"As we grow our organization, we are pleased to have Tom joining our executive leadership team in this newly created role of Chief Risk Officer," said Mr. Deuel. "He brings extensive experience that will support our strategic focus as we continuously improve our audit and risk oversight."

Prior to joining Heritage Bank, Mr. Henning served as the Senior Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management and Regulatory Relations for a Florida-based regional banking organization for six years. Prior to that, he held a variety of leadership positions in audit and risk management for a local national thrift institution based in Seattle for 18 years. Mr. Henning holds a Master of Business Administration from California State University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from University of Colorado.
