KEMET Kicks Off 100-Year Celebrations and Demonstrates Technologies to Address Megatrends at Electronica 2018

Interactive demonstrations for capacitors, sensors, actuators and magnetic devices make the connection between component technology and application needs

Electronica 2018, Munich, 13 – 16 November, Hall B6, Stand 143

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Oct. 08, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- KEMET, a leading global supplier of electronic components, will use Electronica 2018 to begin its 100-year celebrations. The company will also showcase its latest technologies to address the needs of fast moving market sectors including the Internet of Things (IoT) and the electrification of the powertrain and other systems in automotive. The importance of this year’s Electronica is heightened further as it will be the first since KEMET’s acquisition of TOKIN.

Founded in 1919, KEMET has played a leading role in driving passive component technology for many decades. The company offers one of industry’s broadest and most advanced ranges of tantalum, ceramic, film and electrolytic capacitors underpinned by a deep understanding and expertise in materials science. By encompassing TOKIN, the company also now offers complementary, adjacent, sensing, actuator and magnetic components and technologies.

A range of hands-on demonstrations will focus on KEMET’s latest products for key target markets. A further interactive timeline feature will allow visitors to experience the company’s 100-year journey and see how much technologies have evolved in that time.

“Electronica is an important fixture in the world electronics industry calendar, and with its 100-year anniversary approaching, plus the recent acquisition of TOKIN, the timing aligns with a hugely significant time in KEMET’s history,” said Per-Olof Loof, KEMET’s Chief Executive Officer. “Megatrends such as the IoT and electrification and advancement towards autonomous driving in automotive are driving the demand for the types of components and technologies offered by KEMET. This acceleration of the digitization of society is exciting and a challenge to be relished by all of those participating at Electronica this year.”
