Kirk E. Arnold, Former CEO of Data Intensity, and Karen B. Peetz, Former President, BNY Mellon, Join Ingersoll Rand Board

SWORDS, Ireland -- 

The Board of Directors of Ingersoll-Rand plc (NYSE:IR), a world leader in creating comfortable, sustainable and efficient environments, elected Kirk E. Arnold and Karen B. Peetz as members of the Board. Arnold and Peetz will join the Board in February and April 2018, respectively.

Lamach, chairman and chief executive officer. “Kirk brings vast experience in innovation, digital technology and services leadership. Karen adds deep financial and operational leadership experience in complex, global markets.”

Kirk E. Arnold, Former CEO, Data Intensity

Arnold recently retired as the CEO of Data Intensity, the largest independently managed services provider of enterprise databases, applications and analytics.

Previously, she served as chief operating officer at Avid, a technology provider to the media industry. She served as vice chairman, president and CEO at Keane, Inc. Arnold also held leadership roles at Fidelity Investments, Computer Sciences Corp., Ontos, and IBM Corporation. In 2001, she launched Nervewire, a management consulting and systems integration provider, and served as its CEO.

Arnold is a lecturer at the MIT Sloan School of Management and currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council. She also sits on the Boards of the Commonwealth Institute, Cramer Marketing and EnerNOC, now an Enel Group Company. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in government from Dartmouth College.

Arnold will serve on the Compensation, Corporate Governance and Nominating, and Technology and Innovation Committees of the Ingersoll Rand Board of Directors.

Karen B. Peetz, former president, BNY Mellon

Peetz served as president of BNY Mellon, a global financial services company, from 2013-2016. She joined the bank in 1998 and throughout her tenure held roles including vice chairman and chief executive officer of Financial Markets & Treasury Services and senior executive vice president of Global Corporate Trust.

Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Peetz served in a variety of domestic and international leadership roles at JPMorgan Chase & Co., including head, global client management and sales for Global Trust Services and head, Europe, Middle East and Africa for Global Trust Services. She was also a commercial lending officer.

Peetz serves on the Board of Directors for Wells Fargo & Company. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of Johns Hopkins University and chairs the Advisory Board of its Carey Business School. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of The Global Lyme Alliance and serves on the Business Committee of The Metropolitan Museum of Art. She holds a master’s degree in Behavioral Science and Management from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from Pennsylvania State University.

Peetz will serve on the Audit and Finance Committees of the Ingersoll Rand Board of Directors.
