Kraton Corporation Provides Hurricane Michael Update

PR Newswire

HOUSTON, Oct. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Kraton Corporation (NYSE: KRA), a leading global producer of styrenic block copolymers, specialty polymers and high-value performance products derived from pine wood pulping co-products, today provided an update on impact of Hurricane Michael.

Hurricane Michael has had a significant impact on the Florida Panhandle and our thoughts go out to the people and the communities that have been impacted.  As we prepared for Michael to make landfall, the safety and well-being of our employees was and is our top priority.

We own and operate a facility in Panama City, and a facility in Pensacola, Florida.  We began preparations to shut down our Panama City and Pensacola sites on Monday October 8th, 2018 with a full stop by 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday October 9th.

Our Pensacola location was largely unaffected by Hurricane Michael and is currently back on line and producing product.  Unfortunately, our Panama City site sustained considerable damage.  We are currently in the process of assessing the full extent of this damage, and at this time we do not know when our Panama City site will be fully operational.  We are actively working to minimize the impact on our customers, including evaluating our ability to satisfy the needs of our customers through inventories on hand, and where possible, production from our other plant sites.
