BOULDER, Colo. --

Zayo Group Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: ZAYO) has been selected by a major news broadcaster to provide a managed video network. The diverse fiber network will enable the customer to disseminate video and data to its bureaus in the U.S. and Europe. Managed by Zayo Media Networks and supported by its dedicated video network control center (VNCC) with 24x7x365 monitored video support, Zayo is uniquely positioned to deliver high availability live video products.

Increasingly broadcasters, content providers, over-the-top (OTT) platforms and multichannel video programming distributors (MVPDs) are moving to terrestrial fiber networks that provide increased bandwidth and lower latency than satellite. Zayo’s 100G-enabled Media Network solutions are delivered on the company’s owned fiber network that spans more than 12.5 million fiber miles across North America and Europe.

Zayo Media Networks deliver dedicated and occasional use video and data connectivity for broadcast, production, video distribution, sports and live event providers. The Media Networks portfolio includes dedicated video solutions, occasional use short-term solutions, managed video network and cloud-based production. Zayo’s high-capacity, high-performance fiber network is on-net at key media locations and offers direct access to more than 100 linear channels.

“Our differentiator for this customer is our wholly-owned dense fiber network in conjunction with unparalleled media support,” said Brian Daniels, SVP of Strategic Networks at Zayo. “Our media platform supports high-resolution live broadcasts delivered to millions of consumers on a daily basis.”
