MEDNAX Announces Completion of $250 Million Accelerated Share Repurchase Program

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- 

MEDNAX, Inc. (NYSE: MD), the national medical group specializing in neonatology, anesthesiology, radiology, maternal-fetal medicine, other pediatric physician services, and management services, today announced that it has completed the $250 million accelerated share repurchase (ASR) program previously announced on September 4, 2018. Under the terms of the ASR, the Company repurchased approximately 5.9 million shares of its common stock at an average price of $42.47 per share.

The ASR program was completed as part of the previously announced authorization by MEDNAX’s Board of Directors to repurchase up to $500 million of the Company’s common stock. As of December 13, 2018, approximately $250 million was remaining under the authorization. The Company intends to utilize various methods to effect any future share repurchases, including, among others, open market purchases and ASR programs. The amount and timing of future repurchases will depend upon several factors, including general economic and market conditions and trading restrictions.
