Navigant Announces Managing Director Promotions

Navigant (NYSE: NCI) today announced the promotion of eight professionals to managing directors.

Healthcare:

Matthew Brown, Chicago

Brown has 20 years of healthcare experience, primarily from within the industry, and has been with Navigant since 2015. His main area of focus is managing partnerships/projects for clients with revenues in excess of $2 billion annually through performance improvement initiatives combining the areas of corporate services enhancement, medical group development and efficiency, clinical process improvement, workforce efficiency, supply chain optimization, and revenue cycle enhancement. Prior to Navigant, Brown was a senior director in the Labor Productivity and Process Innovation practice at FTI Consulting where he specialized in organizational leadership restructuring, span of control consolidation, and operationally focused process innovation.

Dennis Butts, Chicago

Butts joined Navigant in 2013 and has more than 15 years of healthcare industry experience. For the past two years, he has served as the solution leader for Navigant’s clinical integration solutions service offering, working with provider clients to leverage network, clinical, and contracting strategies to respond to value-based care requirements and growing demands for provider-sponsored risk. Butts is a nationally recognized expert in the development, implementation, and optimization of clinically integrated networks for hospitals, health systems, and academic medical centers. He is also highly experienced across the full spectrum of hospital-physician alignment and strategic planning aimed at helping health systems respond to shifting market, competitive, and governmental imperatives. As part of his commitment to growing the firm, Butts has played a significant role in connecting vertical solutions and identifying horizontal opportunities across Navigant broad healthcare suite of services to maximize client impact.

Virginia Campbell, RN, Ph.D., Tampa, Fla.

Campbell is a versatile leader with more than 23 years of experience in healthcare operations and consulting. She joined Navigant’s physician enterprise practice in June 2016. Her operations and consulting background has focused on establishing confident and collaborative relationships with clients while exceeding their expectations. She leverages her broad experience in operations, consulting, and clinical environments to create high-performing teams that deliver an array of healthcare solutions. Her areas of expertise include professional development, operational enhancements, strategic planning, organizational redesign, and change management.

Christopher Kalkhof, MHA, FACHE, Chicago

Kalkhof is a senior healthcare executive with 30 years of provider and payer industry experience. He joined Navigant in 2013 and is a member of the healthcare payer/provider consulting practice. He also leads Navigant’s revenue model, managed care, payer and pricing strategy services practices. Kalkhof advises clients on managed care pricing, strategy, negotiations, and revenue realization; revenue at risk and closing margin gaps; integrated value-based care payment models; provider-payer and payer-payer strategic alliances; and hospital-physician alignment and integration initiatives. Over the span of Kalkhof’s career, he has assisted clients on varied managed care EBIDA/EBITDA revenue improvement initiatives, which have resulted in more than $1 billion in combined recurring net revenues.

Eric Snyder, Ph.D., New York

Snyder has more than 17 years of experience in life sciences. He joined Navigant in 2014 and focuses on optimizing strategy for pharmaceutical and biotech companies, including assessing business development opportunities, valuing new technology, and developing plans to maximize the value of assets and portfolios. Recent work has spanned such conditions as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and spinal cord injuries; oncology; virology; and such rare diseases as cystic fibrosis and progressive supranuclear palsy. Snyder began his consulting career at McKinsey & Company, supporting global leaders in pharmaceutical and medical devices. His work included launch support of an Alzheimer’s disease therapeutic and diligence on a $20 billion acquisition in medical devices.

John Stearns, Atlanta

Stearns is a member of Navigant’s healthcare regulatory team and specializes in providing financial, economic, investigative, clinical, operational, and industry expertise to health sciences providers, payers, physicians, and the health law community. He has more than 30 years of progressive management experience in acute and post-acute care. He is well versed in Medicare reimbursement, fraud and abuse issues, and ancillary operations. In the course of his experience, Stearns has developed complex financial models and analyzed large volumes of coding, billing, and reimbursement data in a wide variety of industry areas, including direct patient care providers, DME suppliers, and other service providers. He has also led independent review organization engagements involving large-scale medical records sampling and review for patient care providers and a third-party billing company.

Financial Services Advisory and Compliance:

Tim O'Neal Lorah, New York

Lorah has more than 18 years of experience in the financial crime compliance arena. At Navigant, his engagements have ranged from serving as a regulatory appointed independent compliance consultant to leading initiatives for clients to validate aspects of their Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulatory compliance programs. Prior to joining Navigant, Lorah was a managing director and global head of financial crime compliance at both Morgan Stanley and Barclays (the latter as the FCA approved CF11). In those roles, he was the senior point-of-contact with U.S. and non-U.S. regulatory and law enforcement agencies on matters relating to AML, economic sanctions, and antibribery and corruption.

Disputes, Forensics, and Legal Technology:

Nathaniel Huber-Fliflet, Washington, D.C.

Huber-Fliflet has been consulting with law firms and corporations on advanced data analytics solutions and legal technology services for more than 13 years. His expertise is in machine learning, speech recognition, data mining, and software development within the legal technology and services market space. He applies his experience across a variety of domains including antitrust, government investigations, and information security, assisting clients across the full pantheon of regulated industries including financial services, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, and energy. Huber-Fliflet is a trusted advisor to law firm and corporate clients, with a distinguished expertise in negotiating on their behalf with enforcement agencies on the use and adoption of predictive analytics technology to handle complex and costly data challenges.
