Bronx, New York – University Diagnostic Medical Imaging, P.C. ("UDMI") announces a data incident that impacted some protected health information stored on its network.

On November 26, 2024, UDMI observed unusual activity on its computer network and immediately began an investigation, which included working with third-party specialists. UDMI also notified law enforcement. The investigation determined that certain UDMI information was accessed without authorization for a limited amount of time on November 26, 2024. Therefore, UDMI began a thorough review of the files at issue to determine the type of information contained therein and to whom the information related.

This review is now concluded and has determined that the type of information potentially impacted, which varies by individual, may include one or more of the following: name, address, date of birth, referring physician, and/or medical treatment/diagnosis information.

In response to this incident, UDMI worked with third-party specialists to investigate and implement additional security precautions. UDMI also notified law enforcement and is reviewing its policies and procedures related to data protection. UDMI has no reason to believe any information has been or will be misused as a result of this incident. Individuals are encouraged to remain vigilant against incidents of identity theft and fraud by reviewing credit reports/account statements and explanation of benefits forms for suspicious activity and to detect errors.
