PASSUR Launches Major Enhancement to its Traffic Management Suite: "PASSUR Intelligent Query"

Automates Targeting and Optimizing Performance Such as A14, D0, Turn Time and Taxi Times

PR Newswire

STAMFORD, Conn., March 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- PASSUR Aerospace, Inc. (OTC: PSSR), an aviation business intelligence, big data, and software solutions company, announced a groundbreaking, interactive enhancement to PASSUR Integrated Traffic Management: PASSUR Intelligent Query (P-IQ), an automated, actionable efficiency and cost saving alerting capability.

P-IQ uses the customers' targeted operational and financial metrics for their most critical flights as the baseline; once it detects a deviation from the targeted norm, the system will automatically identify actionable efficiency gains, revenue optimization, and cost saving opportunities in time for the customer to make appropriate modifications, to preserve key flights and other operational priorities.

In addition, P-IQ enables and prompts the user to identify multiple new metrics/efficiency opportunities and turns those into additional actionable mitigations alerted by P-IQ, based on the airline or airport's own operating and financial targets and priorities. In the past, many of these opportunities were hidden from view because neither the data, the query capability, nor the alerting platform was available to the end user.

Each efficiency/saving opportunity is presented on a "by exception" basis – an operational or financial event that is highlighted only if it meets a customer criterion or threshold, in order to present streamlined and digestible information.

"P-IQ is a 'must have' capability for every airline, and it's something our customers have been anticipating for a long time," said Jim Barry, President and CEO of PASSUR Aerospace.

"You need the data, of course...but, most importantly, you also need to know what questions to ask of the data. That's one way we help our customers focus on what is most important," said Noel Alfonso, PASSUR's Product Manager for P-IQ. "We know what data is out there, how to identify and process it, and what to look for – and we built that knowledge into this new capability, allowing our customers to immediately start saving out of the box, without needing to be data or software experts. As the customer learns to ask new questions, P-IQ will respond with new opportunities for savings and efficiencies."

Examples include opportunities to preserve on-time performance (reportable DOT metrics such as A14/D0 saves), optimize delay programs (opportunities to prioritize one delayed flight over another), optimize turn times (gate conflicts), prioritize departure sequences (flight "ready state"), and deconflict surface bottlenecks (de-ice queues and extended taxi times).

Future releases will include, among others, opportunities to optimize fuel costs (e.g., tankering opportunities), preserve connections (bags, passengers, crew), and avoid crew timeouts (FAA Crew Rest notifications).

The P-IQ engine is powered by PASSUR's proprietary flight, airport, and airspace databases, together with the fusion of PASSUR's air and surface surveillance systems, customer data, FAA data, and multiple additional industry data sources. There is no comparable database or capability.

Key to the development of this new capability is the PASSUR Aviation Intelligence Center of Excellence – PASSUR's team of subject matter experts with extensive backgrounds in airline, airport, ATC, and business aviation operations. These team members have created a rich baseline of efficiency improvement opportunities within the P-IQ tool, based on their detailed knowledge of the industry and of the National Airspace.

PASSUR's team is also available to work with customers to expand on those scenarios to quickly identify new, specific metrics appropriate to each customer's needs.

The first version of P-IQ is focused on Surface Management metrics. Over the next several releases, the capability will expand to include all metrics ingested and stored by PASSUR – flight, airport, and airspace – and will be accessible anywhere on the PASSUR platform, as well as through mobile device notifications.

P-IQ is a layer of capabilities that can be added to the existing PASSUR Integrated Traffic Management (PITM) suite. For more information, contact your PASSUR sales representative.
